Calligraphy for Beginners

This is a 1-hour session. You will learn faux calligraphy and brush calligraphy; have time to practice with worksheets or freehand; and complete a small craft with one or both calligraphy types. Class sizes are kept small so that you can ask questions and get personal feedback from me as you go along. You will also have the option to receive a worksheet PDF by email and print off more copies for more practice at home.

Suitable for beginners ages 15 and up. No cursive skills needed. All supplies including your first brush pen are included in your ticket; ticket prices depend on the venue and the fees they charge.

Calligraphy Wall Art

This is a 2-hour session. You will receive a refresher on faux calligraphy; learn how to sketch and transfer a design onto wood; apply ink; and then spray-seal your finished piece of wall art. Wood pieces used in class are pre-sanded, stained, and ready for you to write on. Class sizes are kept small so that you can ask questions and get personal feedback from me as you go along. 

Suitable for beginners ages 15 and up. No cursive skills or prior calligraphy experience required. All supplies, including the wood plaque you will write on and a DIY supply list, are included in your ticket. Ticket prices depend on the venue and the fees they charge.

Watercolor for Beginners 

This is a 2-hour session. You will learn the basics of water control and paint dilution that are unique to this art medium; practice mixing your own colors; and complete a mini watercolor painting. (Painting themes are seasonal!) Class sizes are kept small so that you can ask questions and get personal feedback from me as you go along.

Suitable for beginners ages 15 and up. No prior painting or drawing experience required! Feel free to bring along any watercolor supplies you have and want to practice using. All supplies including paint and watercolor paper are included in your ticket; ticket prices depend on the venue and the fees they charge.

General Policies

Please review the following information before registering for a Signed Cricket workshop. If you have a question, use the contact form at the bottom of this page to send me a message!

  • Registration is required for all workshops. Depending on the hosting venue and their policies, registration for some workshops is done here on Signed Cricket's website, and registration for others is directly through the venue. Links + specific information are listed under each event on the Events page. Please double-check the venue location + class time before registering. 
  • Registration deadlines vary by venue. Workshop tickets purchased through my site must be purchased 72 hours or more before class time begins. (Please note: class may be canceled if the minimum number of participants is not met. You will be notified by email 72 hours before the event when registration closes and refunded the full cost of your ticket.)   
  • Refund policy for workshop tickets varies by venue. Workshop tickets purchased on my site will not be refunded within 24 hours of class time. To request a refund, please send me an email at: hello@signedcricket.com
