Shipping

Q: How much will my shipping be?
A: US orders above $125 (except custom orders) qualify for free shipping; orders under $125 have a $5.99 flat shipping fee. You may see the option to choose between couriers and/or shipping tiers at checkout.

Q: I don't live in the US. How much will I be paying for shipping?
A: International shipping is currently not available for physical items in the online shop. (See the latest information here.) Digital items such as gift cards and tickets to online workshops are still available for international purchase because they do not require shipping.
 
Custom orders from other countries will be reviewed on a case-by-case basis. Please contact Signed Cricket using the form below so we can discuss your project and find a cost-effective way to get art to you. For example, a calligraphy project could be converted to a digital download for you to print and frame at home.
Q: Can I skip shipping and arrange local pickup/delivery?
A: The flat shipping rate applies to all online orders (except custom orders and digital items). You may request local meetup in a public location in the Knoxville area in a note at checkout; if your request is approved, your shipping will be refunded in a separate transaction. As a small business, Signed Cricket cannot guarantee local pickup/delivery requests.
Q: How do you ship your art?

A: Signed Cricket packages are prepared as securely as possible using boxes, rigid mailers, or bubble mailers depending on the item inside. Smaller pieces generally ship through USPS; mid-size pieces generally ship through USPS or UPS. Large or heavy items will require freight shipping if they exceed size or weight limits.

 

Gift Cards

Q: Which items can I use a gift card for?
A: Signed Cricket gift cards can be used toward any custom order and any future products like art prints. They cannot be used to buy more gift cards.


Q: I got an email with the gift code. How do I use it?
A: Fill out the form on the Custom Orders page with the details of the sign you would like to order. Once confirmed, you'll receive an email prompting you to verify your shipping information and enter your gift card code. 
 

You'll then receive an email with a price quote for your custom project, with the discount for your gift card applied! Any money left on the gift card after you order can be used later for another purchase. If your order is more than the value of the gift card, you'll be prompted to pay the balance with a second form of payment, like a credit card. 

 
Q: Can I reload a gift card with more money? 
A: Unfortunately, no.
  

Q: I can't remember how much money is left on my gift card. How do I check the balance? 
A: Send a quick email to hello@signedcricket.com! 
 

Custom Orders

Q: How much do you charge?
A: Each type of project (calligraphy on wood, watercolor painting, etc.) has a starting price calculated by the size of the piece you want to order. Starting prices are only a baseline, which means that more complex orders (custom frames, high levels of detail, etc.) will cost more. You'll receive a quote specifically for your project based on the information you provide in your custom order intake questionnaire and any email conversation afterward. Learn more here
 
Q: What is your custom order turnaround time?
A: At least 4 weeks from the date you make your deposit payment, and not including shipping time which can vary significantly and is not under Signed Cricket's control. Large or detailed projects may take longer; you will receive an approximate timeline as part of your specific project quote/contract.
If you have a specific date by which you would like to have your art, please share that on  the form at the bottom of this page. Signed Cricket reserves the right to decline projects with tight deadlines or charge a rush fee.
Q: Do you remake pieces? 
A: Originals that have sold will not be remade and sold as originals; however, you are welcome to screenshot them on the site and then include them as reference photos/inspiration on your custom order intake questionnaire. Do not attempt to reproduce Signed Cricket artwork, whether through generative AI, another artist, or yourself.
 
Q: What if I don't see anything like what I want anywhere on your site?
A: Creativity is a big part of the fun of custom orders, so ask away! (And review the gallery/look book first to see if the style fits your vision.) If your request can't be met, you may receive a redirection to another artist who may be a better fit. Signed Cricket supports fellow small businesses and values community over competition... there is something out there for everyone!
Q: Do you do custom portraits?
A: This should have been at the top! No, there are no plans to offer portraits now or in the foreseeable future :)
