Custom Wood Signs
How They're Made
Each sign is assembled from pine wood. Many wall decor pieces nowadays are made with thin plywood to cut costs—I've even come across pieces where the backing is just cardboard stapled onto the frame! In contrast, the signs I sell are sturdy and built to last, while still being lightweight enough to hang on the wall.
I create an original design using your chosen text, hand-letter it onto the wood, and then seal the sign surface with a clear coat to prevent smudging.
Farmhouse-style plaques are finished with sawtooth hangers (shown below). Pallet signs tend to require sturdier hardware that will be determined by the sign's finished size and weight.
